Who is jesus christ?
1. He is the Christ
Christ means “the Anointed One”. ‘Anointed’ means to be rubbed in with oil. Jesus was anointed by Godwith the Spirit of the Lord. He was qualified and appointed by God to (Isaiah 61):
Preach good news to the poor
Heal the broken-hearted
Proclaim liberty to all kinds of captivity
Opening the prisons and eyes of those that are bound
Proclaim the year of the favour of God (the day when salvation and free favours of God profuselyabound)
Proclaim the vengeance of our God upon His enemies and to,
Comfort all who mourn.
2. He is the Son of the living God
For although there may be so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth, as indeed there are many of them, both of gods and of lords and masters, Yet for us there is [only] one God, the Father, Whois the Source of all things and for Whom we [have life], and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through and by Whom are all things and through and by Whom we [ourselves exist]. 1Cor. 8:5-6 (Amplified) And Simon Peter answered and said, you are the Christ, the Son of the living God. Matt. 16:16
Jesus was sent from God the Father to the earth around 2000 years ago. He came from the intimatepresence or bosom of the Father. He is the only begotten Son of God.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in himshould not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
He is the Eternal Word of God. All things were made through Him, by Him and for Him. He upholds thewhole universe by His mighty word of power.He was born of the virgin Mary. During His time on the earth He was fully God and fully man. God becamea human being, the Creator became the created One. He was tempted in every way, but never sinned.
He is the image of the invisible God,the first-born of every creature:For by him were all things created,that are in heaven, and that are in earth,visible and invisible,whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities,or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the church:who is the beginning, the first-born from the dead;
