EndNote Bibliographic Software Download
 
EndNote is a software program available free to students of Wayne State University. EndNotecan store, recall and cite bibliographic information when composing research papers. The"Add-in" feature of the software allows writers to easily insert citations while at the same timecreating bibliographies in the style of their choice (such as MLA, APA, Chicago, Turabian, andmost others).
You can download EndNote free from WSU C&IT (Computing & Information Technology) Software Clearinghouse  http://clearinghouse.wayne.edu/currentsite/downloads.htm   (Click the EndNote/Reference Manager Software link).IMPORTANT: EndNote releases patches which can be applied from within EndNote. After you download EndNote, choose "EndNote Program Updates" from the "Help" menu and follow the on-screen prompts to make sure you have the most current version available.

EndNote Web
 You can export and import citations directly into EndNote Web, a web version of EndNote. Before youbegin, we suggest you view the EndNote Web online tutorials at http://www.endnoteweb.com/training/ 
Creating Your EndNote Web Account
 
IMPORTANT: You need to create your EndNote Web account from a WSU computer.
 
Once you have created your account, you can access your EndNote Web Library from anycomputer, whether you are at home, at work, or at your local library or coffee shop!To set-up your EndNote Web account:

Complete the online form and submit your registration.
If you are already registered with ISI Web of Knowledge, use your e-mail address and password to automatically connect to EndNote Web.
When you open your EndNote Web account, remote access remains active for 1 year. If you receive a
message that says "Sorry, your roaming access has expired” you need to reactivate your account by
logging in to
myendnoteweb.com 
from a WSU computer.
 
Transferring existing EndNote Libraries into EndNote Web
 You can easily transfer EndNote Libraries between the EndNote desktop version and EndNote Web. If you already have an EndNote Web account, EndNote X3 will ask if you want to merge the accounts thefirst time you open EndNote X3. You can merge accounts in EndNote X3 anytime by selecting
Tools>EndNote Web 
and login to yourEndNote Web account. You can then transfer references back and forth between EndNote Desktop andEndNote Web.If you have earlier versions of EndNote, go to the following EndNote webpage for information on howto transfer your EndNote Library: http://www.endnote.com/support/enwfaqs/Import/index.asp

to download the toolbar plug-ins. The toolbarcontains a link which allows you to link directly to your EndNote Web account while in anydatabase and a link to capture individual citations and save them to your
Unfiled 
folder inEndNote Web. The EndNote Web toolbar does not function with all databases, but our tests show thefunction works very well with
PubMed
and
ISI Web of Science
. You can also use thefunction to launch the EndNote Web template to manually enter citation information from theweb into EndNote Web on-the-fly.
