“Stand Up to Cancer” National Televised Fundraiser

Integrating the Advocate Perspective into the

SU2C Research Funding Process
Advocate Advisory Council
• Stand Up To Cancer will bring together the best and brightest members of the cancer
research and advocacy communities to work in a way that will transcend the barriers
that have traditionally inhibited creativity and collaboration.

• Whether they are survivors, patients or family members, advocates provide a broad
perspective of disease related issues important to their constituency. Advocates
understand what cancer research means to patients and their survival and their
quality of life.

• Advocates will sit side-by-side with the scientists so their perspectives will be
integrated into the direction of the research we fund.
