A BILL

To add joining a foreign terrorist organization or engaging in or supporting hostilities against the United States or its allies to the list of acts for which United States nationals would lose their nationality.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the \u2018\u2018Terrorist Expatriation
4
Act\u2019\u2019.
5
SEC. 2. LOSS OF NATIONALITY.

Section 349 of the Immigration and Nationality Act
7
(8 U.S.C. 1481) is amended\u2014
8

(1) in subsection (a)\u2014
1
(A) in each of paragraphs (1) through (6),
2
by striking \u2018\u2018or\u2019\u2019 at the end;
3
(B) in paragraph (7), by striking the pe-
4
riod at the end and inserting \u2018\u2018; or\u2019\u2019; and
5
(C) by adding at the end the following:

\u2018\u2018(8)(A) providing material support or resources
7
to a foreign terrorist organization;
8
\u2018\u2018(B) engaging in, or purposefully and materi-
9
ally supporting, hostilities against the United States;
10
or
11
\u2018\u2018(C) engaging in, or purposefully and materi-
12
ally supporting, hostilities against any country or
13
armed force that is\u2014
14
\u2018\u2018(i) directly engaged along with the United
15
States in hostilities engaged in by the United
16
States; or
17
\u2018\u2018(ii) providing direct operational support
18
to the United States in hostilities engaged in by
19
the United States.\u2019\u2019; and
20
(2) by adding at the end the following:

\u2018\u2018(c) For purposes of this section\u2014
22
\u2018\u2018(1) the term \u2018foreign terrorist organization\u2019
23
means an organization so designated by the Sec-
24
retary pursuant to section 219(a);
