SECTION C – STATEMENT OF WORK Liquidation of Surplus Books & Other MediaC.1INTRODUCTION
The District of Columbia Public Library is seeking the services of a contractor to plan,organize and conduct the sale of surplus (used) library books and other materials to thegeneral public as a revenue-generating effort via the Internet.
C.2SCOPE OF WORK
C.2.1The contractor shall furnish all management, labor, equipment, suppliesand supervision necessary to provide professional full-service sale of books andother library materials for the District of Columbia Public Library.C.2.2The contractor shall plan, schedule, and arrange the pickups of boxedmaterials from the Library within 14 days of notification that materials areavailable and ready for shipment.C.2.3The contractor shall receive the boxed materials as scheduled from theloading dock of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Library at 901 G Street, NW Washington, DC 20001. The loading dock is located at the rear of the building, and accessed from G Place NW. The ceiling of the loading dock is lessthan 13’, so appropriate trucks sized must be used to access the materials.C.2.4Upon receipt of the boxes of books and other media materials, thecontractor shall deliver them to their specified warehouse or warehouses wherethe books and other media will be unboxed, sorted, processed and stored untilsuch point that they are sold individually for sale on the internet and shipped tothe public that purchase the items from the Internet.C.2.4The Contractor shall perform the following tasks:■ Implement a marketing plan to promote the library obsolete book saleto maximize exposure of the sale to the general public.■ Initiate financial management procedures to collect revenues that willguarantee all funds will be for the sole benefit of the Library3
