The position on residential smoke alarms (01 June, 2006) of the South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service (SAMFS), and the Country Fire Service (CFS), applying to all South Australian homes is: “That ALL residential accommodation be fitted with PHOTOELECTRIC smoke alarms . . . Ionization smoke alarms MAY NOT OPERATE IN TIME to alert occupants early enough to escape from smouldering fires.” More information: www.TheWFSF.org/sap_au
