Summary
The Maritime and Coastguard Agency has undertaken a review of the regulations for passenger ships operating solely within UK categorised waters and this Code has beendeveloped to provide the technical requirements for such ships in a single comprehensivedocument.The technical standards have been developed in consultation with surveyors and the marineindustry.This Safety Code for Passenger Ships Operating Solely in UK Categorised Waters is mademandatory by The Merchant Shipping (Passenger Ships) (Safety Code for UK CategorisedWaters) Regulations 2010 – SI 2010/680.
1. Introduction
1.1 This Code applies to all new passenger ships operating solely in UK categorised waters,except those ships to which the High Speed Craft Code applies.1.2 Further information on the contents of this Notice can be obtained from the followingaddress.
