Last year we did$50,000.00 for Partnership for Colorado and $36,800.00 for United Way. Soon there will be a teamleader luncheon for each department. They are looking for competition ideas, prize ideas and other giving incentives. October 20

there will be a stuffing party in Craig Hall, anybody is welcome to join,even for a little while, and help is needed. The actual campaign itself will run October 30, 2009 to November 20

, 2009. Mile High United Way promotes school readiness, youth success and adult self sufficiency. Partnership for Colorado has about 200 nonprofits in CO. The DU partnership yields greatfinancial support and sends a message that DU cares about the community. Keep your pledge form andlast pay stub to use your gifts as tax deductions. Alyssa and Sherry are both willing to answer anyquestions or direct you to the appropriate people. You may have them come speak with any office for any amount of time. Keep in mind current contributions can be increased and if you’d like to give to anonprofit that isn’t listed you can just write it in on the donation form; just include the name, city andstate. Additionally, one time donations are also an option.
 
2. We are looking for members to be on the various SAC committees, such as Take Your Child toWork Day, the SAC Picnic, the Easter egg hunt, etc…please sign up or consider signing up if you have not.3.Guest Speaker – Ruth Brown from Athletics and Recreation.The limited (crimson) plan’s hours have increased, the new hours are M-F 5:00am to 3:00pm andanytime on the weekends. As part of our benefits DU offers a backup care package, duringschool days 5-11year olds can use them as a backup care provider for $20.00 per day. They willsend an invoice for the service and there is a limit of 10 days. Faculty and Staff can try a 5 punch pass at the Coors Fitness Center to try it out. Once you use the first punch it’s valid for up to 2more weeks. If you’d like an Athletics and Recreation representative to come to your office totalk about Health and Wellness please call x14694 to schedule a presentation. In an effort tooffer more family events there will be Disco Skate Fridays during September from 7:30 to9:00pm at the Joy Burns Arena. During the month of October, DU will donate .10 cents to breastcancer research for every mile logged on the pink treadmill on the 2

floor.4.There is no Treasurer’s report this month.5.SAC awards are underway, plaques are ordered, Visa cards as well. Nicky provided Athleticstickets.6.DRI is no longer part of DU, it was absorbed by SECS and NISM, can we offer them a chair within SAC instead? The executive committee agreed and the SAC members can vote. Everyonewas in favor, the motion passed.7.Nominations for a new executive committee are out. Nicky Bruckhart will be the new VicePresident; Kate Martin will remain the Treasurer. We need a new Secretary, Saskia Sawyer volunteered but it remains to be seen if she must be on the committee for 6 months first. We also
