CONDOLENCES

Bro. Moni Bose (86), veteran leader of Telecom workers and Central government employees in India
expired on 19.05.2010 at 1045 hours. He was in the hospital for more than 45 days.

Moni Bose joined P&T Department as a Clerk in DET Office Kolkota in 1945. From the very
beginning he became active in the trade union movement. He was dismissed from services in 1949
along with many other left-minded comrades. Thereafter, he took up a job in a private company but
continued his association with the P&T TU movement. Till recently he was attending the office of
coordination committee of central government employees in Kolkata daily and guiding the new
generation of workers.

Moni Bose was elected General Secretary of AIEEU Class III (E3 Union) in 1991 at Bhopal. He
served the Union as President also. Later on, he was elected Patron of BSNLEU. He was member of
Pay Commission for State Government Employees in West Bengal.

BDPA Gujarat express heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family members and comrades of Monida.
His services to workforce will be cherished for ever in our memoray for the years to come.
