Regulation:4.25take a vote on the resolution at a subsequent meeting. TheSuperintendent will make recommendation on the resolution toinclude the name, the area or facility and the duration of thenaming.
2. Committee Consideration
If the School Board Chairman and Superintendent determine thata committee should be convened, the matter will remainconfidential until the committee is convened. The School BoardChairman and the Superintendent will determine the membership of the committee, and suggest a deadline for the completion of thecommittee review. The nomination will be presented to the Board in the form of aresolution, with the supporting information from the writtennomination and the committee’s recommendation. Therecommendation will include the name, the area/facility, and theduration of the naming.
B.Nominations for Funded Naming
Groups or individuals may initiate a request to name a specificarea/facility of a school for individual or business sponsors who arecontributing substantially for capital improvements or to the benefit of aschool or the school division.If preliminary discussions occur on a nomination, they should be heldwith the Superintendent and the principal of the school. Suchpreliminary discussions, if they occur, must be treated confidentially. If discussions proceed beyond a preliminary stage, the Superintendent willnotify the Chairman of the School Board. School staff members who areapprised of the potential for a donation must notify theSuperintendent’s office.
