Retirement of a facility means sale, transfer to another governmental agency, alternative use, demolition, temporary closing, or similar action.

When a school division building becomes unsuitable for its present use, it may still be used to benefit the school division or public in other ways. In determining whether a facility is to be retired, the School Board may consider the following factors, among others:
