Editorial The cultural oering in terms o contemporary art is characterised in the Poitou-Charentes region by an indisputable diversity, as much in its subject matter as in its geographic distri- bution. It was this assessment that encouraged a group o exhibition spaces to publish a summer guide two years ago. Its purpose was to document the riches on oer, riches thatwere sometimes not well-known.This third issue o the guide conrms the promises o the two earlier issues because it wel-comes new organisations concerned with promoting and disseminating artistic and cultural endeavours. From the north to the south, rom the east to the west, within the centres o cities large and small, in the countryside or on the coast, rom May to October a vast array o experiences and proposals in the eld o the visual arts can be discovered. They areconveyed with passion by appropriate proessionals, most o whom have chosen to gather together within the association coordinating this publication. We sincerely hope that this approach is a productive one and that it provides much pleasure.I would like to take the opportunity here to thank all our partners, the direction régionale des Aaires Culturelles (ministère de la Culture et de la Communication), conseil régional dePoitou-Charentes, along with Brionne Industrie at Naintré, and not orgetting Rurart, whocarried out the work involved in publishing this guide.
