SEARCA-Beahrs ELP Training Study Tour on Agribusiness

Scholarship in Environmental
Leadership for Southeast Asia
SEARCA is annually providing a joint scholarship with the
Beahrs Environmental Leadership Program (ELP) to enable
a highly qualified Southeast Asian professional from an
influential organization engaged in agriculture, rural
development or natural resources management (NRM) to
participate in the Beahrs ELP summer course. The ELP
summer course provides mid-career professionals an
opportunity to improve their understanding of the complex
social, economic and biophysical aspects of natural
resource and environmental management.
SEARCA-DA-BAR Training on
Responding to Climate Change
through R&D in Agriculture
The training course, designed for DA research
managers and researchers, will provide participants
with core climate science concepts for them to have a
clearer understanding of the climate change
phenomenon and its impact on agriculture, forestry and
fisheries; guide them in identifying areas vulnerable to
climate change; and provide them with tools to measure
the extent of risks these areas are exposed to.
Development for Transition
Countries in Southeast Asia
The study tour is designed for policy implementers at
the senior management level and senior policy advisers
from the private sector representing Cambodia, Lao
PDR, Myanmar, and Vietnam. It generally aims to
provide the participants meaningful first-hand exposure
to successful agribusiness models, along with
opportunities for cross-sectoral collaborative learning
towards appropriate and innovative agribusiness
initiatives in their own countries.
