Clark is a renowned authority
on international law, and
teaches several classes on
U.S. foreign relations and
national security law.
Law Day, a day to reflect on the importance of law in our community, is also a day to
honor local residents for their service to the community and respect for upholding the law.
The Liberty Bell Award Committee, composed of Arnold Robinson, David Raczenbek, and
Ed Duffy, selected great recipients for this award: Harry Freitag (Bridgeton), Stanley
Schelakow (Millville) and the Loyle family (Vineland). This year, the Board of Trustees, on
behalf of the Bar, also wanted to recognize Gia’s for their service to the community, and
especially their involvement with the Children’s Holiday Breakfast. Ken Gauntt, the owner
of Gia’s, was presented with a plaque to show the Bar’s appreciation of their efforts.
The Bar Association and the Bar Foundation also presented scholarships to local stu-
dents who will be using the funds to advance their education by attending college or law
school. The Board of Trustees voted this year to substantially increase the overall scholar-
ship amounts, and awarded $18,000 to 17 deserving students.
The Bar Association also honored the Vineland Mock Trial team, coached by Michael
Testa, Jr., for another winning season. Congratulations to all the students involved, and
special thanks to Matt Bingham, who recently took the reins from longtime previous Chair,
Walter Schultz, and did a great job.
