Terri Melton will demonstrate a T-Shirt paintingproject that she learned at Spring Maid. Bringyour own T-Shirt and SASI will supply the paint.Any color and even old t-shirts will gain a newlife. Bring a t-shirt or two and a friend.

PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION
Southern Arts Society and the ShutterLightGroup are having their first photographycompetition with cash awards totaling $400.Entries will be
accepted Sat. June 12, 11am-3pm
. A complete prospectus is available onlineand at the Depot. Judge will be Kristy McSwain,a Cleveland Co. native and owner of IntimateVisions by Kristy Photography based in KingsMountain. Kristy is a graduate of Catawba ValleyCommunity College in Hickory, NC with anAssociate's Degree in Photographic Technology.
Awards will be presented at a publicreception on June 20
th
.
Exhibit runs June 15
through July 30.

CHILDREN’S ART WORKSHOP
The Annual Children’s Art Workshop will be theweek of August 9th thru August 13. Time is from9:00am until 11:30 am. Cost is $25 per child forages entering 1st grade thru 6th grade. Snack isincluded. A public reception for our young artistswill be Saturday, August 14th from 1 until 2:30pm.Class size is limited to 20 children. Call the Depotto register at 704-739-5585.
OIL PAINTING WORKSHOP

Supplies to Bring:
photos to work from if youhave one, oils (or acrylics if you prefer), odorlessturp and mediums, bristle brushes, palette knives,table or floor easel, at least 3 prepared surfaces(no larger than 11x14). James will demo andshow us how to use a photo as a jumping off placeto begin painting. More details on the website.James Norman is an award-winning 35-yearveteran oil painter and teacher.
