- Developing Focus & Concentration -
1)Strengthen concentration.
Twice a day, practice holding a specific object in mind steadilyfor 5 to 10 minutes. The item should have some detail that you can imagine, but it should also be simple to “see” it in your mind. Some good examples: an apple, a pencil, the face of your child or pet, your house as it looks from the outside, and so on. Choose something you won’thave trouble picturing, but something that requires you to focus in order to see it clearly. Callup a strong mental image of it, and then try to keep your focus on the object for a full 5 or 10minutes without losing your focus.This is hard to do at the beginning because your mind is probably untrained. Random thoughts and pictures may keep popping in and you’ll have tokeep pulling your attention back to the object again. Don’t let this stop you! Remember, theonly reason you struggle with this is because you don’t have a strong ability to focus yet.
2)Empty your mind.
Another focus-killer is a head full of scattered thoughts. Emptying your mind can do wonders for scattered thoughts! Then, set aside 5 or 10 minutes to focus onquieting your thoughts. Though this exercise is called “empty your mind,” you really can’tcompletely empty your mind of thoughts. Your thoughts will keep on flowing through your mind the whole time. However, you can detach and simply let them pass by. You become anobserver of sorts, watching your thoughts flow by. You’re aware that you’re having thoughts, but you don’t latch on to them and start actively “thinking” about them. You simply sit in aspace of peace and being while your thoughts flow calmly past.
3) Candle.
Put a candle on the table in front of you. Light a wick and focus on the candleflame. If you attention wander, just gently bring it back and keep on looking at a candle flame.If you want to make it more fun and interesting, you may "converse" with a candle flame. Eventhough the candle flame doesn't speak human language, nevertheless you can establishcommunication telepathically because your thoughts become translated into a vibrationalfrequency and if you remember from other writing on this website - everything in the universeis made out of energy and energy follows thought.
4)Count Words
Take a book and count the words in any paragraph. Count them again to besure that it was correct. Start with one paragraph and when it becomes easier count all thewords on the page. Perform the counting mentally and only with your eyes
5)Geometric
Draw a small geometrical figure, about 3 inches in size, such as a triangle, arectangle or a circle. Paint it with any colour you wish and concentrate on it. Only see thefigure. Do not think any words, only the figure exists. Watch the figure in front of you and trynot to strain your eyes.
6) Body.
Concentrate on the Within. Lie down and thoroughly relax your muscles. Concentrateon the beating of your heart. Do not pay any attention to anything else. After a little practiceyou can actually feel the blood passing through your system.
 
7) Watch Concentration
. Sit in a chair and place a clock with a second hand on the table.Follow the second hand with your eyes as it goes around. Keep this up for five minutes,thinking of nothing else but the second hand, This is a very good exercise when you only havea few minutes to spare, if you are able to keep every other thought in the stream of consciousness subordinate to it. As there is little that is particularly interesting about the secondhand, it is hard to do this, but in the extra effort of will power required to make it successfullies its value. Always try to keep as still as possible during these exercises.
8) Numbers( A & B). -
Count backwards in your mind, from one hundred to one. / -Count inyour mind from one hundred to one, skipping each three numbers, that is 100, 97, 94, etc.
9) Dreams & Reverse
Write a dream log each morning when you remember a dream andevery night before you go to sleep, review your day in reverse. This exercise will help youremember your dreams.
10) Wall.
Choose a spot on the wall and look at it – do not focus too much on it though. Eraseall thought from your mind and concentrate as hard as you can on your breathing. Hold on aslong as you can.
11) Read & Write
An excellent exercise is to read an article in a newspaper, and see in howfew words you can express it. Reading an article to get only the essentials requires the closestconcentration.
