Conference Locations

Conference Panels, June 13-16

The panels will be held at the Rogers Communication Centre (RCC 204) at 80 Gould Street,
Ryerson University. Take the Yonge-University subway line to Dundas subway station, then walk
north on Yonge Street. Turn right (east) onto Gould Street. The Rogers Communication Centre is
on the left (north). Note: If you are staying at the Delta Chelsea Hotel, the Rogers
Communication Centre is within easy walking distance.

Since the subway does not operate until around 9am on Sunday morning, those staying at the
Holiday Inn on Bloor St. will need to take the streetcar to attend the early panels on June 13.
Walk west on Bloor to Spadina station (about 200 hundred metres) and take the Spadina
streetcar (510) south to Dundas. Then take the Dundas streetcar (505) east to the intersection of
Yonge and Dundas. A conference volunteer will be waiting at 8.15 am in the lobby of the Holiday
Inn to accompany you on the streetcar.

Opening Reception, June 13

The opening reception will be at Hart House, University of Toronto. Conference volunteers will
bring you there from the main conference room. Should you choose to make your own way, the
closest subway stop is Museum on the Yonge-University line. Exit the station and walk south on
the west side of the street (Queen’s Park Crescent). Continue south past Hoskin Avenue about
30 metres. Take the pathway leading to your right; go down the steps and you are in front of Hart
House. Note: Hart House is within walking distance for those at the Holiday Inn. [Map on p. 2]
Archival Screenings, June 14-16

The first screening (June 14) will be held at the Cinematheque Ontario in Jackman Hall at the Art
Gallery of Ontario (AGO), 317 Dundas St. W. From the Dundas subway station on the Yonge-
University-Spadina line, either walk or take the streetcar (505) west until you reach McCaul St.
(about one km). The AGO is located on the southwest corner of Dundas and McCaul. (The AGO
building is unmistakable: it has a large, Frank Gehry-designed glass front that resembles the side
of a boat.) The entrance to Jackman Hall is just south of the intersection on McCaul St.

2
Our second screenings (June15) will be held at Innis College Town Hall, 2 Sussex Avenue,
University of Toronto. Take the Bloor-Danforth subway line to St. George. Exit St. George subway
station at the St. George Street exit, then walk south. Innis College is on the right (west) side of
the street, just at the corner of Sussex Avenue. Note: Innis Town Hall is within walking distance
from the Holiday Inn on Bloor.

The final screening (June 16) will be at the Revue Cinema, 400 Roncesvalles Avenue.
Conference volunteers will bring you there from the main conference room. If, however, you
prefer to make your own way, take the Bloor-Danforth subway line to Dundas West. Exit Dundas
West subway station and walk south on Dundas St. Keep going straight south onto Roncesvalles
Avenue. The theatre is on the right (west) side of the street.
