What is the one thing that any of us Internet
Marketers are trying to do with our site? Improve
our Google ranking for one keyword or another,
right? If you’re not, then you should be, because
Google traffic, as is all search engine traffic, is top
notch when it comes to e-commerce. Surfers who
reach product sites from Google are typically
online consumers who are not afraid to pull out
their credit card if they find what they are looking
for. It is your job to get them there and let your
site do the rest.

Okay, one of the best SEO secrets to improve a
site’s Google ranking is to build up a lot of quality
backlinks to it. Taking this further, Web 2.0 sites

have proven to be a real asset to IM’s due to the
amount of authority that these sites have with Google. The logic is easy, if Google
loves Site A, and you have a link from Site A to your site, Site B, then Google now
loves Site B too. That is the basics. A while back, some 12 year old kid discovered
that arranging a group of these Web 2.0 backlinks into a wheel shape, making your
site the “hub”, would greatly increase your rankings for the relevant keyword in the
search engines. So everyone started doing that, not everyone, but quite a few. Of
course, it’s overall effectiveness started to wane.

Once the linkwheel’s wheel shape became not so effective, creative IM’s started
