On September 10, 2016, approximately 9:41PM, Complainant Dennis Scott was stabbed and killed by arrestee Rodney Antonio Sherrell, ‘during a physical altercation at 1310 Sleepy Hollow Drive, Dallas, Dallas County, Texas 75235, The facts of this offense are as follows: On September 10, 2016, at approximately 10:49 PM, parol officers were dispatched to 1310 Sleepy Hollow Drive regarding a disturbance call with an ambulance, Upon arrival, officers learned thet the complainant was wansported to Parkland Hospital for his injuries. Officers went to Parkland Hospital and were informed thatthe complainant was pronounced deceased a 10:31 PM by Dr. C.T. Miushall. The Officers were able to locate a crime scene and speak with witnesses in tho area of the 1300 block of Sleepy Hollow. Patrol Officers leammed that the complainant was involved in a verbal argument with the arrestze while at 1310 Sleepy Hollow Dave During the argument, the complainant approached the arrestee and stated, "Ihave something for you". The arrestee went inside of his residence and exited with a walking cane in his hand. The arrestee continued arguing with the complainant end became iavolved ia a physical altereation withthe complainant. The complainant approached the arrestee who struck the complainant with the cane possibly on the face. The complainant grabbed the cane and the arrestee pulled out a knife from his right pocket and stabbed the complainant several times on the neck and back. ‘The complainant walked away ftom the arrestee and began yelling for help, Dallas Fire Rescue wes notified and transported the complainant to Parkland Hospital, Patrol officers notified Homicide, PES, and the Dallas County Medical Examiner. While on the scene, the arrestee, along with other witnesses came forward. The arrestee and witnesses were transported to the Homicide Unit located at 1400 S. Lamar Street. Detectives mirandized and inierrogated the arrestee who admitted to stabbing the complainant with the knife. —t1 877 WHEREFORE, Affiant requests that an arrest warrant be issued for the ‘AFFIANT above accused individual in accordance with the law.
