ABOUT TO MAKE HISTORY
Nationals 2B Daniel Murphy has hit safely in 14 straight games dating to Sept. 2...During
this streak, Murphy is hitting .415 (22-for-53) with nine doubles, six RBI, four walks, two stolen
bases and seven runs scored.
With a double in the third inning on Saturday, Murphy tied two Nationals (2005-pres.) single-season recors: with 184 hits, tied Denard Spans record for hits in a season (2014) and
with 47 doubles, he tied Ryan Zimmermans record (2006).
Murphy has recorded four hitting streaks of at least 11 games this season, tied for the most
in Major League Baseball (also: BOS 2B Dustin Pedroia).
Murphy leads the NL in slugging percentage (.598), OPS (.991), doubles (47), multi-hit
games (56), and extra-base hits (T1st, 77)....He ranks among NL hitters in average (.348),
hits (2nd, 184), and RBI (2nd, 104).
FROM THE HOT CORNER
Nationals 3B Anthony Rendon leads National League third basemen in doubles (37) and
ranks among the group in runs (3rd, 84), walks (4th, 62), RBI (5th, 78), OBP (5th, .355) & SLG
(6th, .457)...Rendon has driven in 32 runs from the No. 5 spot in Washingtons lineup -- 13
more than from any other spot in which hes hit.
Rendons 37 doubles rank tied for seventh in the National League and his 19 since the
All-Star break are tied for second Major League Baseball.
Despite driving in just one run in all of April, when he hit primarily in the No. 2 spot in the
lineup, Rendon has collected 78 RBI this season...Hes averaging an RBI every 1.6 games
since May 1 and is hitting .310 since the All-Star break.
POWER ALL OVER THE FIELD
2B Daniel Murphy (25), RF Bryce Harper (24), SS Danny Espinosa (21), C Wilson Ramos
(21), and LF Jayson Werth (20) have all hit at least 20 home runs this season, making the
Nationals one of just three teams in MLB with at least five 20+ homer players (BAL-6, DET-5).
According to the Elias Sports Bureau, if 3B Anthony Rendon (18), clubs two more home
runs, the Nationals will tie a National League record with six 20+ home run hitters...The
1965 Milwaukee Braves and 2003 Atlanta Braves each had six players hit at least 20 HR.

DUSTY BAKER

Nationals manager Dusty Baker was named the sixth field manager in Nationals history on
Nov. 3, 2015. A three-time National League Manager of the Year (1993, 1997, 2000), Baker
is the 17th-winningest manager in baseball history. Entering the season with a 1,671-1,504
career record, Baker is just the 17th manager in MLB history to win 1,700 games (1,759-1,564).
Bakers record slots him second in the win column among active managers behind only San
Franciscos Bruce Bochy (No. 16 all-time, 1,781 victories). Jim Leyland is No. 15 on the alltime list (1,769). Connie Mack holds the all-time MLB record for managerial victories with 3,731.

DIVISIONAL DOMINANCE
The Nationals intra-divisional record, 48-21, is the best of any team in the Major Leagues 2009: Ryan Zimmerman hit his 30th home run of the season -- a first-inning, two-run blast -- to
within a teams own division...Additionally, the Nationals 48 victories are 14 more than any kick start the Nationals en route to a 6-5 win over the New York Mets at Citi Field. Washingtons
win snapped a three-game slide, but it did not come easily. The Mets trailed, 6-2, entering the
other NL East team has against a fellow divisional opponent (NYM, 2nd: 33).
The Nationals have won more divisional games than any team in club history...The 2014 bottom of the ninth, plated three runs and had the potential tying and winning runs in scoring
position when Mike MacDougal retired Jeff Francoeur for the 27th out on a dramatic 1-3
