Guru Nanak Dev Mission was formed in 1963 with
Dr. Ganda Singh as President. The main aim of the Mission was
to publish the tracts connected with Sikhism, Gurbani and Sikh
History. After the death of Dr, Ganda Singh, some members of
the Mission decided to form a Trust in his memory and
Dr. Ganda Singh Memorial Trust was created by the Guru Nanak
Dev Mission, Patiala, Taking into consideration the life Jong
research in history by Dr. Ganda Singh, it was decided to have
annual research paper competition in his memory. The first
competition was held in 1989, second in 1990 and the third in 1991,
It was also decided by Guru Nanak Dev Mission to publish the
research papers as tracts. Last year, first three papers for the year
1990 were published as tracts Nos. 403, 404 & 405. Similarly, this
year the first three papers of the year 1991 are being published and
this paper written by Dr. Shamsher Singh has been awarded 3rd

Mission.
