Description

Clear, concise, and persuasive, Atheist Universe details exactly why God is unnecessary to explain the universe and life's diversity, organization, and beauty. The author thoroughly rebuts every argument that claims to "prove" God's existence — arguments based on logic, common sense, philosophy, ethics, history and science.

" Darkness there was: at first concealed in darkness all was indiscriminate chaos. All thatexisted then was void and formless: by the great power of warmth was born that unit. Transversely was their severing line extended: what was above it then, and what below it?There were seminal begetters, there were mighty forces, free action here and energy up yonder. Who knows and who can say, whence it was born and whence came this creation? The Godsare later than this world's creation. Who knows then whence it first came into being? " N asadiya Sukta ( Creation Hymn ) The Rig Veda [R.V.10.129] - Indian Mytholog y Haaha....the only ones that go to hell for debunking god are Mullahs and Chrischuns; I for one aint going nowhere. Hinduism has NO HELL, and so far is the only one that goes hand in glove with Darwins theory of evolution as well as the big bang theory.

I shouldn't have said argument, because it was kind-of only a mere mention of gun control. Nevertheless I felt it necessary to put that right there \|/

I find all of the arguments in this book faultless Except for the one regarding Gun Control- While not as eloquently put as Mr. Mills, I believe that private ownership of guns is necessary for the preservation of democracy. Think about it, the only people who would be allowed to carry guns would be soldiers and police officers (agents of the government). Also, if one criminal manages to smuggle in one automatic weapon (improbable huh?), he can go on a merciless killing spree virtually unopposed! The main reason for gun control laws are to reduce homicide rates, but when you consider how frail and easily killed humans are then you realize that gun killings will go exponentially down but killings with bladed weapons will rise just as fast! While I often disagree with much of what the conservative right believes in, I wholeheartedly believe that "it is not the gun that kills a man, but it is the person behind it" (or something like that)

hazrul74- You mentioned arrogance. Well then, let's talk about arrogance. You know what true arrogance is? True arrogance is not knowing ANYTHING about a subject, yet saying that it is ridiculous and wrong. True arrogance is thinking that one doesn't need any objective evidence in order to determine the truth, because one's own intuition is SO good, and SO much better than everyone else's, that it is enough. True arrogance is saying that the people who have spent their whole lives studying a given subject are 100% wrong, even without knowing ANYTHING about the subject, and calling THEM arrogant. True arrogance, in other words, is exactly what you are doing. It is truly sickening how arrogant you are.

This book is very entertaining, very much like Darwin Evolution Theory. I prefer to rename this as "A quick guide to Hell" Very funny, how human beings can be so arrogant, yet the best scientist cannot even create a mosquito. We can never replicate floating balls circulating on single axis.
