<Luke 11:33-36 >

WHEN THE EYES ARE GOOD, THE WHOLE BODY IS FULL OF LIGHT

• We had already spent almost 4 months this year. Those whose eyes are good
will be able to see clearly the work of God so far.
• God wants us to have a Christian life that is living! Therefore, is our walk with
God lively?
• Since the beginning of the year, God has convicted to church to arise and
shine. God wants to shine through our individual lives, our families, our
career/studies and ministry! Do we still hold on to it now?
• Our God is faithful, righteous, and loving. Therefore, as we wait in great
expectation on the things He had convicted us to pray, they will be fulfilled!
Thus, what is most important is our eyes
• No matter how weak our conditions are, learn to use our eyes to move God to
work; learn to use our eyes to receive the full condition of God. Thus, when our
eyes are good, everything will be full of light too
• If we are very clear in our prayers (i.e. the fulfilment of God through our
individual lives, our families, our career/studies and ministry) and have an
expectation heart. We will know that we need to prepare our vessel
• Those with an expectation heart will know that he needs to get equipped and
be changed. Then the healing light of the Holy Spirit will come upon us to heal
us, change us, and anoint us. With that, God will fulfil the impossible through
us.
• Since we had already listened to God’s Word, let us learn the lessons in 2006.
Then, God will give us new lessons in 2007. If we cannot learn this lesson in
2006, God will repeat the lesson in 2007
• No matter how weak we’ve been in the past does not matter. God’s timetable
is now. Forget the past and press on ahead towards the goal (the goal to
believe God, await God and love God). The blessings in front are waiting for us
• In the front portion of <Luke 11>, Jesus taught His disciples about prayers.
Those who do not understand about spiritual prayers accuse Jesus of driving
out demons in the name of Beelzebub. And the Jews kept asking Jesus for a
miraculous sign without seeing that the source of miracle (Jesus Christ
Himself) is with them. Therefore, Jesus talks about the importance of the eyes
through today’s message.

v.33 who will put the bright and beautiful things in the storeroom?

• Light is useless and valueless for a blind

• God had already given the Great Light to the Believers. Yet, a lot of Believers
chose to place the Light at the lowest position in their lives. For the non
Believers (i.e. Blind), they have no use for the Light
• The problems with Believers are they close their eyes always as they go about
their everyday lives (as they go to work, go to school, etc). They shut their
eyes even as they come to Church. They sing hymns, pray and listen to the
message blindly.
• Therefore, their daily lives are in a total mess. They lose the most important
sequence as they go about their everyday lives. They exchange the most
important blessings for things that are valueless (things of the flesh). They
 cannot differentiate between things of primarily and those of secondary.

1. Sequence: Reality first

• The sequence in our lives is incorrect; therefore problems in our families,
career, health, finance would not go.
• The sequence in our lives will determine if our eyes are opened
• What is the first thing that comes into our minds when we wake up in the
morning?
• What is utmost important for us? The reality should be the most important
things for us. What then is the reality?
• The reality are:
1) God, the creator of heaven and earth, is alive. And He is always with
us. His glory never departs from us.
2) Our lives are royals, more precious than anyone could describe
because Jesus Christ gave is whole life to redeem us. Therefore, when
we know the reality, we will not feel inferior. We will not judge the value
of our lives according to the standard of this world.
3) We are only travellers on this Earth. All things we have on this world
exist for the purpose of the eternal kingdom. Thus, our purpose is to
live as a traveller and God will give us all the things that we need on
earth.
4) The angelic hosts and angels are always protecting me. Thus, I can
have rest in all circumstances.
5) Satan will surely attack us. And the way he attacks us is through
accusation and deception. Therefore, if we know the reality, we will
react to things differently. We will understand the weakness and
helplessness of those around us.
• A person who knows the reality will know when to speak out and when to
keep mum, when to give help, when to pray, etc. The light of reality will
shine forth through him.
• Therefore, a person who receives this light will receive power and acquire
fruits and he will as a result value this light!
• We must really switch on the light. How long have we not switched on the
light already?
• Once we acquire this sequence of reality correctly, God’s discipline will
stop. Our deteriorating health will stop, our conflicts with our loved ones
will stop, our financial problem will stop.
• Though we may not be perfect, but as we become more blessed, the speed
of turning on the lights will get faster. We will as a result get out of our
groaning faster.
• E.g. If there is some fears in us, we must put a stop to it (i.e. don’t keep
thinking along that line) Instead, filled your hearts with the reality from
God: “the Lord is my helper, even in the most difficult times”. Think along
that line and receive the change in heart. And the moment your heart is
changed, the answer of God has come upon you.
• E.g. If you are lacking financially, stop developing the thoughts of not
having enough money. If you do that, you will surely be victim to the lure
of money subsequently. Rather, be contented and thankful with what you
have; and when true contentment and thanksgiving come, the answer of
God has come upon you, and you will receive great blessing of meetings.
• God’s protection and provision is upon our everything
• The reality of God is upon us, and will be fulfilled in our lives. Only the
Word of God will be fulfilled. Everything on this World is changing except
for His Word!
 • There are lots of predictions in the newspaper but if you read them
carefully, most of their predictions will never come true. Even if some of
the predictions come true, they are also not 100% accurate
• Only the predictions of God will be fulfilled fully and they are all recorded in
the Bible.
• However, people do not trust the truths recorded in the Bible but will
rather come out with their own explanations for things that took place in
this world. Therefore, in every era, God is looking for people who put the
sequence of their lives upon His reality.

2. The Light: Jesus Christ <John 1:9-10, 1:12>

1) What sort of light is Jesus Christ? The light of Immanuel
• Without the light of Jesus Christ, nobody will ever know God. Nobody
has know God since the days of Adam for all men are born in spiritual
ignorance
• Therefore, without the light of Jesus Christ, the way men know God is
through creating him through their own imagination. And with that,
idols are created.
• Without the glorious image of Jesus Christ, we will never know
ourselves. We will know ourselves only as a more intelligent animal
species. Only through the image of Jesus Christ, we are able to
understand fully that we are created perfectly in God’s likeness. And
Jesus Christ has shown us how he, as a human being with flesh, could
triumph over the temptation and attack of the evil one through the
Holy Spirit within him.
• Without the truth spoken through Jesus Christ, we will never know the
things of the eternal Heavenly Kingdom, where there will be judgement
and crowns given, without which we will never put our hope on things
above. Therefore, those who do not know the true matter of life after
death came out with things like “cause and effects”
• Therefore, Jesus Christ is the light of our life which gives us
understanding of all things about God, about us, about this world,
about eternity, etc. Though his light that shine forth, we know that God
is always with us and we are created in His image

2) What sort of light is Jesus Christ? The light of authority

• <1 John 3:8> Jesus Christ came to destroy the work of the forces of
darkness.
• In the beginning, there are no tribulations in this world. But ever since
the spiritual realms changes where the fallen angels fought with the
righteous angels, darkness, fear, worries, inferiority, guilt, greed,
hatred, jealousy, lust enters our glorious bodies. It is then men needs
an outlet and answer and went in search of blissful lives.
• Thus, men went into seeking philosophy, hoping it will give them
answer to life and as a result attain blissful lives. They use the curiosity
in their hearts to find or think of the invisible things but cannot truly
give answers. Their answer to every question is a ‘why’ which leads to
nowhere.
• They more they think, the more emptiness and fears they will have and
all these things developed into religions. In fact, all religions started off
to enable people to have a blissful life. However, no religion is able to
give people an assurance of eternity. No religion, no matter how
profound it is, could give men the full assurance of eternity blessings
during their lives on earth.
• Religions only teach people to “earn”. They must earn love,
 blissfulness, etc, through their deeds, hard work etc. Even if some
religious people are able to earn these, there is no assurance of having
eternal lives. In fact, people are all scare of death because they do not
know what will be there at the end.
• Therefore, Jesus Christ said: “I am the life and resurrection. Those who
believe in me will never see death.”
• Therefore, <Heb 2:14-15>… By His death, He destroys him who holds
the power of death – that is, the devil – and frees those who all their
lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.

3) What sort of light is Jesus Christ? The light of love

• Jesus Christ bought with Him the most infinite and unconditional love
upon us.
• Religions also talk about love and mercy. However, to who are all these
love and mercy given? They are only given to those who deserved it!
i.e. those who do good.
• If we really think properly about it, who can really deserve love and
merciful? Are the good men has done really good? Though men do
good outwardly, but can men motives stand before the fully righteous
God? When the desire of the flesh comes upon him, can he truly stand
with his conscience clear?
• Therefore, Satan can accuse day and night because the sins of men are
always before them.
• Thus, only the light of love that comes through Christ can fully set us
free from the guilt that comes constantly from sins. His love exceed far
beyond all those of religious people.
• <Romans 5:8> While we were yet sinners (enemy towards God),
Christ died for us and fully redeemed us through his infinite love. Only
the love of Jesus Christ is unconditioned. He willingly dies for us and
bore all our sins and curse.
• Many a times, we could not be set free because we have not
understood and depth and degree of Christ love for us. When we
realise the great love of God, we will be freed completely and able to
see His love in any situation.
• Jesus Christ has displayed God’s love to us the moment He was born till
He leaves the Earth.
• When Jesus came on Earth, He did not choose to come as a great King
because very few people can be like that. Therefore, He chose to come
as a poor person and was born in a manger in order to give comforts to
all his brothers.
• Jesus Christ came as one who is penniless and does not own anything
on this earth, yet he made everyone rich, triumphing over the
limitation of flesh.
• Jesus Christ has chosen those who are deemed to be dirty,
undeserving, low in status, terrible people, and sinners to be His
friends.
• And Jesus Christ chose the most cruel and terrible method to die, which
is to die on the cross but He is one without sin when He die for us.
• A lot of religious characters say that they are willing to sacrifice
themselves (e.g. gouge out their eyes, enter the Hell, etc) but they are
only doing what they deserved because they are sinners just like us.
• Jesus Christ sacrifices Himself for us but more importantly is that He did
so even when He is one without sin!
 • But even as Jesus Christ sacrifices till the end, he emerges victoriously.
Men throughout the world celebrate the day of His birth, His crucifixion,
His resurrection. And the friends he made became the most important
people in history.
• God did lots of things for us by using paradox!
• The weakness of churches today is that they do not know Jesus Christ
completely.
• <1 John 1:12> To all who receive the light (Jesus Christ) and believe in
this light (Jesus Christ), our body will be full of light... Therefore, how do
we receive and believe this light? i.e. through our hearts.
• In other words, when we are willing to believe, accept and love this
Light: i.e. the reality and the full example of Jesus Christ, the light will
come upon us.
• When we wake up each morning, do we have an expectation heart for
His Light?
• The Light of Jesus Christ is:
1) Light of Love → Upon receiving this, we can call him ‘Abba’ Father in
all circumstances
2) Light of Covenant → When we use this light to look at our families,
our career, and ministry, we will be full of hope
3) Light of Authority → When this light shine upon us, we will
overcome all pettiness and become a big vessel
4) Light of Healing → The light of healing will heal even our physical
health. A lot of people just want the healing but not the light

3. Jesus Christ said: “See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness”
• This is important because there exist in the spiritual realms the one who
always accuse and deceive us.
• Therefore, how easily we lose the convictions and love for God straight
after blessed meetings? How often we give way to flesh straight after we
resolute?
• Therefore, it is important that we set up a ‘systematic way of thoughts’.
After that, there will always be a line of thoughts in our perspective of all
things.
• A lot of times, when we do not examine and be cautious in our lives, the
“roaring lion” will attack us rapidly.
• Therefore, our thoughts must be systematic. No matter what happen, we
will first think of the reality, then the example and ideology of Christ Jesus.
Once this systematic way of thoughts is set up, great light will come upon
us in all circumstances.
• The angrier we are, we will realize the reason not to be angry, for Christ
died for all.
• The more people around us disappoint us, the more we put our hope in
Christ.
• The more tribulation, the more we see through the present life.
• The more successful in this world we are, the more we see the shortness of
our life. Our joy will always be in God.
• Therefore, if we’ve ‘systematic way of thoughts’, we will think and pray
differently. And true strength comes from here.
• No matter what hurts you had received, use the light of Christ to format it
once and all hurts wil turn to thanksgiving. And this is how you will receive
healing and strength. This is what our “36 lessons” is all about.
 • Then, the ‘system of operating our lives’ must be built up. This is none
other than centring our lives upon the tabernacle.
• As a Christian, we must receive protection from the congregation where
the word of God is preached and where the Holy Spirit dwells.
• What is most important is we need to have a congregation-centred life
• A person who does not have a congregation-centred life will only suffer
more when they become more successful outside the church congregation.
• Though he may temporary become successful, a person who does not
have a congregation life in the church will acquire the fruits of this world →
their lives will become more and more harden and they will rely more and
more on themselves
• If we do not meet the Lord of Sabbath Lord and receive the Sabbath rest
on the Sabbath Day, we will not have any peace in the following six days.
Therefore, do not find excuse not to observe the Sabbath, but find the
reason to observe it.
• We should live seven days for seven days and one day for each day. This is
determined by God
• If we receive rest on Sabbath day though the Holy Spirit and His Word, the
worries for that week will worry on its own. No problem in our lives can go
beyond the 7 days.
• If we hold on to the word given by God during the Sabbath message and
find rest through our daily fixed time prayers, each day worries will worry
on its own. We will sleep in peace everyday and receive new grace the
next morning.
• Therefore, understand that the importance of the Sabbath (which is
designated the lord’s day). No activities, work, studies should replace it.
Rather, take hold of what God has designated, and receive 10 folds of
blessings to carried out our other activities.
• The ‘system of operating our lives’, centring upon the Sabbath day must
be set up. With the grace receive through Sabbath Day, then we carried
out all other activities and ministry.
• For each week, our first priority must be the Sabbath Day
• For each day, our priority must be placed on the fixed time prayer → fixed
perspective
• After we had acquired the fixed perspective, our intercession will be
powerful. Our thoughts itself will bring miracles and fulfil great works.
• Till then, God will not hide us under a bowl, but will put us up on a high
stand to shine for him.
• We will naturally bless others in our every way of life.
• We must restore the standard of God
• No matter how weak we are, as long as God still allow us to stay on this
Earth for a day, it only proves that we are still of use to God. Therefore,
take hold of what Christ took hold of you.

Prayer & Sharing Topics

1. The Lord says “When your eyes are good, your whole body also is full
of light”. Confirm: does this verse always come true in my life? How
will my life be changed when I’d seen that God is with me, helping me
and blessing me? And how are my attitudes towards men and things
changed? How are my environment and people around me changed
when my life is lighted up?
2. The Lord says “I am the light of the World. You will also be the light
of the World because I am with you”. Ponder: What sort of Light
does Jesus brings into my life? Is that light able to cast out all
darkness? Are there still any problems suppressing my heart and
spirit currently? How does the light of the Lord shine upon me and
resolve my problems?

3. The Lord says “See to it that the light in you is not darkness”.
Ponder: How to make the light of Lord always shine in my life and
make my life a bright light in my field? Do I need a “systematic way
of thoughts” to guide my eyes and a “system of operating my life” to
safeguard my blessed living? Discover and strengthen…

4. Continue to pray till the end of the April to acquire the answered
prayers (for personal, family, career & serving). And from May to
August, how should I prepare my vessel to store the blessings that
God had prepared to give me this year.
