PETITION FOR CANDIDANCY OF

PORTIA HAMPTON-FLOWERS

FOR 10TH JUDICIAL DISTRICT JUDGE

There is currently an open seat on the 10th Judicial District Court, which includes
Anoka, Chisago, Isanti, Kanabec, Pine, Sherburne, Washington, Wright counties.
This opening was created because at the end of the candidate-filing period, both
candidates withdrew their candidacies leaving no candidates in the race.

In order to be placed on the ballot for this judicial seat, candidates must obtain
500 signatures from residents of the 10th Judicial District by June 10, 2010.

Attorney Portia Hampton-Flowers is seeking to have her named placed on the


ballot. Ms. Hampton-Flowers is a long-time resident of Woodbury, Minnesota.
She is a former Minnesota Assistant Attorney General, a former attorney for the
Minnesota Department of Corrections, and currently a supervising attorney for
the City of St. Paul, Minnesota. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan
and the University of Iowa College of Law.

We are asking for your signature today not as a commitment to vote for Ms.
Hampton-Flowers, but to support putting a quality candidate on the ballot and to
avoid a potential court vacancy
