While the full impetus of a regularProject lasts for a time barredperiod, here, we intend to continueupkeep and continued effort tohappen right through the year as apart of the schools’ programmes.
Nature of Work Project Patauda:
The locally known ‘Patoda’ (in locallanguage, to denote a Waterhole) is a frequented location where buffaloesand cows from the vicinity come to graze and sit in the swamp/low lyingwater that collects there.Over the years, the catchment tothis waterhole have been blocked, due to commercial use of surrounding land area, and thesilting of the area itself has madethe place shallow, thereby depletingthe water, much earlier than in thepast. The Project would involve de-siltingthe area of the pond and if possible, clearing up the channels that bringrain water to this lake, from the catchment areas.
This Project has the active participation of students and adults from notonly the host school, but also from schools who are part of the RoundSquare fraternity and beyond. We have The Doon School, British Schooland St. George’s School, Switzerland joining us in this endeavour withthree teachers and sixteen students working on these dates.
