Taught by Alana ShumaClass held in VC Chatroom - check the Yahoo Groups site (Calendar) for the URL.Supplies: (For all the projects you see here in case you want to duplicate them exactly± not what we will have time to make)DominosStaz On Ink (for the projects shown I used Black, Azure, Brown, Cherry Pink, VibrantViolet)Versamark (if you want to emboss)Gold Embossing Powder (or color of your choice)Heat GunStamp Pad Colors of your choice (for the projects shown I used Autumn Terracotta,Ocean, Juniper)Sponge DaubersStamp Cleaner and Scrubber Blending PenEmbellishments (I used sparkles, ribbon)Stamp Sets of your choice (I used: Simple Beauty; Memories; Today¶s Date; AutumnSplendor; Annotations; Happy Haunting; Butterfly Wings)Alcohol or Alcohol Blending Solution (Adirondack)Cotton Balls or Paper TowelsGlovesAlcohol Re-inkers (Eggplant, Cranberry, Lettuce ± Adirondack)Create-A-PaintBlush Re-inker or the color of your choiceCeramcoat White PaintPaint BrushesDirections:Prior to working with any of the dominos, take a cotton ball or paper towel and clean the back and sides of all the dominos you are going to use with some alcohol. Set aside andlet dry.We will begin easy and work up to harder:The first domino I did was to ³blend´ colors.Step 1: Take a domino and press one half (the non dotted side) into a Staz On pad of your choice.Step 2: Turn the domino and press the other half into a coordinating Staz On color. The ³today´ domino I used Pink and Purple. The ³tomorrow´ domino I used Blue andPurple.Step 3: Now you spray a small amount of alcohol or alcohol blending solution on thedomino. The colors will begin to bleed.Step 4: Take a cotton ball or paper towel and ³blot´ very lightly. This will blend thecolors and give it a polished stone look.Step 5: Heat set the colors.
See the example below of what your domino should look like.Step 6: Stamp the saying or design of your choice. I used Today¶s Date to stamp ³Todaand ³Tomorrow´ on mine.Step 7: Heat set the ink.You can now ³bling´ them up as you want. I used ribbon, a gold metallic paint pen to goaround the edges and a sparkle.Finished dominos below: Next two dominos we will do are using Alcohol Reinkers. The first one:Step 1: Take your domino that has been cleaned. I drew a line of Eggplant Reinker alongone end of the domino and drew a line of Lettuce Reinker along the other end.
Step 2: Spray alcohol or use a drop or two of Alcohol Blending Solution. This will movethe reinkers around and they will blend together. They will dry very quickly. You have to move fast or add more reinker and/or blendingsolution.Step 3: Take a cotton ball or paper towel and clean up any edges.Step 4: Stamp your image using Brown Staz On. I used Annotations. Heat set image.Step 5: Add your bling. I used a sparkle and gold metallic paint around the edges.See example below:The second one:Step 1: Take the Cranberry Alcohol Reinker and make a couple of lines on your domino.Step 2: Spray with Alcohol or Alcohol Blending Solution.Step 3: Dab with a cotton ball or paper towel to move the ink around until you get theeffect you are looking for.Step 4: Stamp the desired image. I used Annotations using Pink Staz On. Heat set.Step 5: Bling as desired. I used sparkles inside each flower.See example below:The last domino we will do uses regular ink, Black Staz On and a Blending Pen.Step 1: On your clean domino, use a dauber to sponge the color of your choice on thedomino. The butterfly is done with Juniper and the flower with Ocean. Heat set.Step 2: Repeat the sponging and heat set again.Step 3: Stamp the image of your choice using Black Staz On. Heat set.
