Know all Men by these presents, that I William Parks of Novi Oakland County In consideration of Three
hundred Dollars to him paid by Smith Parks of Novi in said County the receipt whereof I do hereby
acknowledge do by these presents give grant bargain sell and convey unto the said Smith Parks his heirs
and assigns a certain parcel of land Situate in Novi Oakland County and Michigan Territory bounded and
described as follows The South East quarter of the South East quarter of Section Eight in Town one
North of Range East [sic, Eight] East in the district of Land offered for sale at Detroit Michigan Territory
to contain Forty Acres of Land more or less—Together with all the privileges and appurtenances to the
said Land in anywise appertaining and belonging: To have and To hold the above granted premises to
the said Smith Parks his heirs and assigns to his and his [sic] use and behoof forever and we [sic] the
said William Parks for his heirs Executors administrators do covenant with the said Smith Parks his heirs
and assigns that he Lawfully seized in fee of the aforegranted premises that they are free from all
incumbrances; that he has good right to sell and convey the same to the said Smith Parks as aforesaid
and that he will and his heirs Executors and administrators shall warrant and defend the same to the said
Smith Parks his heirs and assigns forever against the Lawful demands of all persons.

In Testimony whereof he has here unto set his hand and seal this third day of March in the Year of our
Lord one thousand Eight hundred and thirty five—signed sealed and delivered in presence of—
