The Lord Warns and Forewarns
The bible is full of instances in which the Lord warns and forewarns people of faith to prepare for acoming catastrophe, from Noah and the flood, to the children of Israel for their exodus to the book of Revelations, God has seen fit to warn us of coming events so that we might be able to prepare for them.May are the times that he himself or his prophets, advised, counseled, exhorted, even commands, thatwe prepare for what is about to befall and take shelter while yet there is time. Just as there are manyinstances of God proving such warnings the bible is also full of the fate of those who did not heed andcontinued with their feasting and making merry, idlely pass their days with thinking that they were theMasters of their own fate and above the plans and the policies of God and so by taking no heed of God’swords, they took no action and sought no the shelter as directed and thus they parished.
The Lord holds us accountable for our actions
“Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head. He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul. But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take [any] person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.”
The Lord has little mercy for those who heed not his word. An example is of this is when theLord himself shut the door to the ark behind Noah when the floods came.
“A male and a female of every animal went in as God had commanded Noah. Then the LORDclosed the door behind them.”
