Getting More Value out of Sustainability Reporting

Getting More Value out of Sustainability Reporting

Published by IFC Sustainability
This IFC and Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Good Practice Note will help companies in emerging markets improve relationships with stakeholders and attract investors by better measuring, managing, and reporting their contribution to socially and environmentally sustainable development and demonstrating good corporate governance. Getting More Value out of Sustainability Reporting links two global standards for sustainability performance and disclosure. These are IFC’s Sustainability Framework for private sector investment in emerging markets and the GRI Framework for Sustainability Reporting. The publication comes at a time when linking sustainability to core business strategy and management is emerging as the new frontier for business competitiveness.

The current version of the Good Practice Note is being released as a “Road Test” draft to solicit feedback from companies and stakeholders. A final version will be published in 2011, following completion of the current review and update of IFC’s Sustainability Framework and the latest update of the GRI Sustainability Reporting Framework.
