Ally the Amazing Algorithm

So yea we have a computer and a keyboard and – WOW, mailing people just got allot faster!
But so did the whole writing process.
It doesn’t matter how long you spend with a paper and pencil, bottom line is, if you want people
to be able to read it – you’re not going to write THAT fast. So in the end your writing will be readable,
probably mistake free in an ideal world and hey – you’ll probably be confident enough to send that
letter away to its designated recipient.
But let’s get real – we’re using computers and phones to communicate today. Nobody actually
writes anymore – not to communicate at least, it’s too slow and we human beings like moving fast. So
we type, and we type and the more we type the faster we get at typing – and the more mistakes show
up. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if you could just hit that keyboard and hope that whatever comes out will
just work itself out? Maybe in the future our computers will be like our personal assistants and we’ll just
have to dictate what we want written. Maybe…
But for now, it is possible to be confident! It is possible to just type and worry about how it looks
later. And, more importantly – it is possible without wasting precious time proofreading your text, re-
reading and still sending it out with a small voice in the back of your head saying “what if…”.
No more “what if”s! Your writing can be perfect, you can send that letter with the knowledge
that it is professional, it is impressive and it does convey the message you were aiming for.
It all starts with this algorithm, we’ll call it Ally. Ally is very sophisticated, she likes helping out
and enjoys long walks on the beach… um, she also happens to be based on NLP (which is Natural
Language Processing) and artificial intelligence. That means she knows how your brain works, and why
you make the mistakes that you do. And every day Ally learns new things about the way humans write
and think. In fact, Ally is the only one that really understands you, helping you strive for perfection. She
won’t judge you but will tell you where your faults lie so that you may improve and, together with Ally,
be a professional English writer.

Ally’s real name is WhiteSmoke.
