Vice-Chancellors Message

The information technology revolution has helped tremendously in

bringing the world closer to the level of a global village. Under the
circumstances, not a single nation can live in isolation. Every nation
has to play its role in the well being and uplift of the global
community.

In order to fulfill our responsibilities we have to work objectively

towards achieving excellence in all spheres of human interactions.
This demands giving up our present lethargy and hibernation and
adopting high standards of discipline, efficiency, professionalism
and integrity at all levels.

We cannot safeguard our national interests unless we change our

social conduct and attitude. The present level of our society is a
direct out come of our poor human conduct, intolerance, injustice,
inequity, incompetent and selfish leadership and lack of foresight on
part of those running the state machinery. To this end we have to
follow and practice the sacred injunctions in their true spirit, and not
merely practice rituals and traditions, in all conceivable human
interactions.

It goes without saying that educational institutions provide avenues

for foremost social interactions and the university being the highest
seats of learning do play its role to produce not only skilled
workforce and high quality professionals for the state machinery but
also dedicated and selfless leadership capable of moulding destiny
of the nation.

In order to assess the progress of the university regarding its

functions on providence of services and achievement of its mission,
the Annual Report has been prepared not only as a statutory
reqirement but to factually highlight its strengths and weaknesses in
order to review its policies for optimal performance and for setting a
future direction accordingly.

The Annual Report for the academic Session 2007-08 provide a true
picture of all the activities undertaken. The report may serve as a
guiding post in formulating strategies for the future.

Let me invoke that preparation and presentation of Annual Report is

a statutory requirement and must be taken seriously in providing
correct and relevant information in time.

In the end, I pray for strength and farsight to work whole heartedly
with full devotion and concentration to elevate this Alma matter to a
world Class University.
