What is life like?

Well, interesting
in some ways

and unfortunate in others

or at least

by my reckoning.

- My hedges aren’t growing -

- and my fiddle-monsters -
- are messed up -

Lilith is furious with me

for my fourth-quarter

production estimate on Janga fruit

and I can see sex

will be a solitary function

for some time.

Looking over the fields

outside my rooms in the palace,

I feel melancholy

and some satisfaction that

despite the furies

beset upon me this day,

life will work itself out

as my continued presence testifies.

Being the factor for the heir

is a perilous task

made easier

by the kind dispostion

of this particular prince.

He is ugly as sin

but a real gentleman

and a man

worth knowing

despite his eating habits.
