The first eight trading cards in the brilliant Friendly Dictators series distributed by Amnesty International. They are a superb mixture of real history and visceral art.

( = ^ , ^ = ) fabulous!
Excelent job!
What’s missing in this list it’s having a new brand of military dictators for the XXI century. I’m referring to authoritarians who pretending to be democratic exert their power despotically, by subverting the foundation of a society, a government and a State, in order to impose their own mumble jumble retrograde ideas on how to live. Hindering normal operations in a society comes about through their imposed laws made to fit their wishes, through their own tunnel vision for interpreting the country Constitution by which other opinions do not count, and through their deceitful electronic mechanisms of elections that allow them to change and ignore vote outcomes. Having debaucher politicians in Office guide citizens belief systems into believing that “carrot and stick”, anarchy, backwardness, corruption and injustice are values and principles by which to live a well balanced standard of living.
Dictators are dictators. They may have ideologies or not. But the fact remains, all of them exert power through marketing façades to gather world acceptability and support. Nowadays, one of our XXI century dictator is epitomized, for example, by Hugo Chavez in Venezuela. He really molds brilliantly himself to fit the new brand of military dictators. There are enough facts that demonstrate his “wonderful” 10 year record on justice, education, economics, health, and why not, corruption, technology frauds and conscience buying. Just check these facts and others to convince yourself.
did you try to see if you're wearing stripes and stars specs and seeing world history onmly through it?
Does any of these dictators above got power without US help? Do any of these have any even got any ideology to base on? What're interests that put them in their pwer? And what were the interests that put likes Mao, Catro and Lenin in power.
Try to answer the above and you'll find your answer.
Try to read some literature beyond the skewed versions you've only access to in US.
I always have world press available to tell me about the history of a country from different historical perspectives. I studied in US and I personally like the citizens being open minded. But they're stuck in the brain washing propagandas against the entire world and you do not have any other perspective what so ever on any world matters.
you smell that crak?
yo bra
If Castro hadn't come in Cuba and changed the system there, you think it would all be better?
Since Castro is the leader there is free education and free health care. These are bad things? Go to the oh so great America and look what's the situation there. America has a lower life expectancy and less schooling grade than Cuba.
Viva Cuba.
Usted habla la verdad.
ur mums face
Usted habla la verdad.
I think Bush has greatly exceeded all contemporary leaders in the slaughtering of people and the destruction of sovereign countries as well.
Intelligence is not an attribute; it can go hand in hand with evil just as much as with good.
Far better than Bush at killing people do you mean? You know, putting people against a wall and shooting them because they oppose you politically.
Hmm, I would suggest you didn't take off your rose coloured specs when reading your history of Castro, or you were conditioned rather than educated. A common delusional problem amongst people of this age due to the brainwashed condition of the individuals who pass themselves off as educators. Living proof real education died out in the 1950's.
Castro is a far better and more intelligent leader than Bush. My family is Cuban; I know my history and I know what is happening now.
I suggest you do your history on Fidel Castro, but remove your rose coloured spectacles before you start.
It might help if you use one of the other examples I gave.
I do not believe that "free enterprise" is a determining factor in defining a leader as either a friendly or unfriendly dictator. George Bush behaves far more like a brutal dictator than does a leader like Fidel Castro.
I would suggest it's the unfriendly ones that didn't have trading cards as they didn't believe in free enterprise, just enslaving their people under an evil Socialist/Communist iron fist.
Anyone going to answer my original question coherently?
I'm fully aware of that, but I asked what the difference was between the friendly ones and the unfriendly ones.
They specifically are referring to dictators whom the United States is friendly with and has supported.
Can you tell me the difference between friendly dictators and unfriendly dictators? You know the ones, Stalin, Fidel Castro, Pol Pot, Mao-Tse-Tung, Robert Mugabe etc. etc. etc.
This is a wonderful find. Thank you for sharing.
nice work
Those illustrations are very powerful and a bit creepy; the concise trading card history is very accurate as well.
