THIS CONVERSION KIT SHALL BE CARRIED OUT IN ACCOR-DANCE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE PROVINCIALAUTHORITIES HAVING JURISDICTION AND IN ACCORDANCEWITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE
CAN-B49.1 AND CAN1- B149.2 INSTALLATION CODE.
Warning:
This conversion kit shall be installed by a qualifiedservice agency in accordance with the manufacturer’s instruc-tions and all applicable codes and requirements of the authorityhaving jurisdiction. The information in these instructions mustbe followed to minimize the risk of fire or explosion or to preventproperty damage, personal injury, or death. The qualified serviceagency is responsible for the proper installation of this kit. Theinstallation is not proper and complete until the operation of theconverted appliance is checked as specified in the manufacturer’sinstructions supplied with this kit.This dryer has been manufactured for use with Natural (city) gas.Installation of this conversion kit converts the dryer for use withL.P. gas with manifold pressure of 10” water column and supplypressure between 8” and 13” water column. If this dryer is con-verted for use with L.P. gas by means of this kit, the input ratingwill be 20,000 BTU’s per hour, for altitudes up to 10,000 feet. Forinstallations above 10,000 feet, contact a qualified service agencyfor derating instructions.
For Gas Dryers with a Toe Panel
GAINING ACCESS TO BURNER ASSEMBLY
1. Unplug dryer or disconnect power.2. Turn off gas supply using the shut-off valve that supplies thedryer.3. Fill out information on conversion decal and apply in a con-spicuous location adjacent to model and serial tag locatedin the door well.4. Remove toe panel. On some models, a small flat-headscrewdriver is required to release the clips at the top of thetoe panel.
CHANGING THE ORIFICE
5. Disconnect ignitor wires from harness and then remove theburner tube by removing the two (2) screws securing it tothe burner base. See
Figure 1

: The ignitor is fragile.

6. Remove the burner orifice from the valve and replace itwith the proper orifice furnished in this kit. Orifice number isstamped on one edge of the hex head of orifice. Securelytighten. See
Figure 2
.Use Orifice No. 55 for Propane gas.Use Orifice No. 3/64 for Butane gas.7. Put the burner tube back on the burner assembly. Securelytighten the two (2) mounting screws. Reconnect the ignitorto the harness. See

.8. Before proceeding, you must first determine which gas valvestyle is on the dryer. Refer to Figure 3 - Style “A” and “B”.

STYLE “A” GAS VALVE CONVERSION
9. Remove the regulator vent cap (leak limiting device) fromthe pressure regulator. See
Figure 4
.10. Install the new blocking pin finger-tight. Do not tighten morethan 1/8 turn to seal it. See
Figure 4
.11. Apply English or French conversion decal on top of the burnerdata decal located on the burner baseplate.
STYLE “B” GAS VALVE CONVERSION
12. Observe the cover dial settings indicated as NG (Naturalgas) and LPG (Liquefied Propane gas) along with the gastype indicator. See
Figure 5

Pressure Test
Check minimum and maximum inlet gas pressure:

NOTE:
The blocking pin included with this kit is NOT used withStyle “B” gas valve.
Installation Checklist
Check that both labels have been installed as described insteps 3, 11 or 15.
If converting to Propane, check that the number 55 is notmarked on either of the remaining orifices. If converting toButane, check that the number 3/64 is not marked on eitherof the remaining orifices.
Check that the regulator vent cap has been replaced by theblocking pin as in
Figure 2
