I agree, gabbylyn. When I said God is not in control, I didn't mean that God doesn't have a plan for us (He most certainly does), I simply meant that God does not cause every event that happens in the world, because many of the things that happen in the world (including many of the bad things such as war) are not God's doing, but the result of our own free will decisions, which are often very poor decisions, because the devil is constantly tempting us to do evil things, which is why we need God's help to overcome the devil, each and every day.

God IS in control. Also, God did NOT create evil. When you think of the angels that He created, they have been in His very presence and have seen God first hand. When Lucifer decided that he would not be content with his position as #1 ArchAngel, he rebelled - key word is made a CHOICE - and Lucifer and about 1/3 of heavens angels made the choice to denounce God and now they face the same judgement = HELL. We will never fully understand things until we get to heaven. That is where FAITH comes into play. God is very much in control of things. He gives us "free will" and the ability to make choices, to know right and wrong. Evil is because of Lucifers choice and his wanting to dismantle the Kingdom of God. Thus, Satan=Lucifer will stop at nothing to interfer with our daily lives and make us "choose" to not want Christ in our lives. Satan wants to keep us as far away from God as possible. The good news is that by having a real relationship with our Savior, God will see us through the "hell" and messes that Satan and his host create for us. The other way to see bad things in this world, is to realize that we are not complete without God in our daily lives. God will complete us where we fall short, and help us. Things happen every day around the world that we just ignore, but sooner or later, some tragic event will happen before our eyes and grab our attention. God wants to use that to bring us closer to Himself. When we suffer or see others suffer, we become better equiped to help others in need of our Savior through our testimony. We can then declare the glory of God by what we have seen and heard. The post about different races does start with the different languages, but when we all realize that we are descendents of Adam and Eve and then Noah and his family, we are all related somehow. It is the areas around the world that dictate various things about how we look. For example, fair skinned people do not typically live close to the equator. Darker skinned people usually live closer to the sun belt and darker skin will keep from burning. Chinese look different because their language uses certain facial muscles when they talk so their faces and eyes are firmer. It is true that human genetics also play a key roll in how we look. No matter what, we are created very special by God. One last thing that will blow your mind. Your DNA is a very special code for who you are and your makeup. If you were to read one character per second day and night of your DNA, it would take 96 years to reach the end. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. God bless you!

Suffering is not a testament to the nonexistence of God. It testifies to the existence of the devil. There is a continuous battle going on between the forces of good and the forces of evil. Anyone with eyes to see and minds to understand can see it. There are many common misconceptions regarding the existence and nature of God, but the most common misconception is that God is in control of everything that happens. God is not in control. It's called free will. God is not to blame for war or natural disasters, because these are simple products of cause and effect. Their causes are well known and documented. They are not caused by God. Nor did God intervene to stop these events, because God sees the big eternal picture that we cannot possibly see or understand. We can rest assured that in the end, every injustice will be made just, and every unfairness will be made fair. God will justly judge everyone who has ever lived, and God will be glorified. He is glorified through the righteous who serve Him, and he is glorified through the unrighteous, who will be brought to justice by Him. "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. "Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you."

All that God had created yet nothing in His image. He in His perfect order would create man. Thus is the family of God. I believe God was pleased with the cosmos and reasoned we too could share His feelings for all of His creations. Take a second or two (or more) every day to look around you and try to imiagine His magnificance.
