Ruth’s Report
Moges and I got married on February 20, 2010. The ceremony was held outside, with a mountain view on the north and the lake in the south. Our brothers and sistersand both our parents were able to be with us. We thank God for it. In the afternoonwe had a reception in the conference centre across the hospital. The next day wewent on a honeymoon trip to Awasa (a city three hours drive from Soddo) for a weekand then to Addis Ababa for another week. We had a wonderful time. We would liketo thank all of you for your emails, cards and gifts! God bless you.Currently we are back at Soddo and are working atSoddo Christian Hospital. We live on the compound.Moges receives salary for his work at the hospital butI don’t. That is why we made an agreement with our Mission Organization (Foundation White Fields) thatpart of Moges’ salary will go to our living cost. Thismeans that more of your support money will go to theneedy people in and around Soddo-area.We have seen the helping hand of God in our wed-ding, we were able to cover our wedding expenses. House in Soddo
Psalm 121: 1,2.I lift my eyes to the hills, where does my help comefrom? My help comes from theLORD, the Maker of heavenand earth.
Update 1- Chickenproject
I was asked a question about how the chicken project is going and I amhappy to tell you that it is going well. The chickens are kept as free rangechickens on the small pieces of land around the houses. When the eggs aresold, a little bit of grain can be bought, but often that is not even necessary. On a regular base the extra eggs are given to the people in the church. On a Sunday afternoon, just before this newsletter was due to come out, I walkedwith the neigbours to Soddo town. A boy came towards me and showed me hishand. His hand had a big wound and the index finger stopped growing. He told methat it was like this since two years. He also told me that he had five brothers andsisters and no father. His mother baked injera (Ethiopian stable food). She did nothave enough money to go with him to a physician. We took him with us to the OutPatient Department of the hospital and made an x-ray. The x-ray showed anosteomyelitis caused by tuberculosis. The boy was treated from the BenevolenceFund. Every week people recieve care in the hospital from the Benevolence Fund.: On the pediatric ward an 8-year old girl was in a coma because of malaria. →
