Discipleship made easy. That’s the
motto of Real Life Ministries in PostFalls, Idaho. Real Life is one of thefastest growing churches in the U.S.with a membership of over 8000people and 14,000 in attendance on
the weekend. Whew! That’s a lot o
people! What in the world are theydoing? They are intentionallydiscipling nearly everyone whocomes in their door using smallgroups that tell the story of Jesus.Did you say tell the story?
Yes…they tell the story and then
retell it and apply it individually on apersonal level. We flew out toSpokane, WA to do an Immersion Itraining with Jackie and DuaneAnderson, medical missionariescurrently working in Soddo. Tuckedin the mountains of Western Idaho, this dynamic church is doing whatour Lord commanded, makingdisciples. Soddo Christian Hospitalhas recently begun implementing thisdiscipleship training along with areachurches in Soddo and is receivingmuch positive feedback. We went toIdaho with an open mind and wewere not disappointed. Most peopleof the world are auditory learnersand nonreaders so this programmakes it super simple. Just tell thestories that we already know byheart. An added bonus was getting tobond with Jackie and Duane, packsome boxes for the hospital to go ona shipping container and visit ournephew John Tollerson and his twochildren, John William and Coralynn.

THIOPIA
Initially we were perplexed how wewere going to get our personalsupplies to Soddo. Being limited tofour suitcases made it difficult toimagine where we were going to putthings like pots and pans, bed linens, etc. But, God cares about the details. In March we took four black duffelbags to Wheaten, IL where a group of short term missionary women carriedthem to Ethiopia. In May we took twomore to Idaho when we attended theconference. They will travel with ashort term mission group in October. Many of our books went with thehospital container and I purchased afew electrical appliances in SouthAfrica which also has 220 current.
