According to observers, P.F.O. consists of a medley of silly

middle–aged gardening busy–bodies who have nothing bet-
ter to do with their time. The individual little P.F.O. local groups often
have cutesy titles, like Get Rid Of Urban Pesticides ( G.R.O. U.P. ). These
people know how to keep their priorities straight !!! Nobody in P.F.O. has
any recognized expertise, training, or background in matters concerning
pest control products, or lawn and ornamental maintenance.

On January 15 t h , 2008, Susan Kos wan said ―

The majority of Ontarions want the province to ban both the sale and use of
lawn and garden pesticides. We want legislation that sets the world stan-
dard for eliminating pesticides from our landscape practices. [ ? ]

Pesticide Free Ontario used the PUBLIC AFFAIRS SHIELD organization Coali-
tion for Pesticide Reform Ontario, that was created to influence public
policy regarding the Ontario Cos metic Pesticides Ban Act. Pesticide Free
Ontario conspired to prohibit FEDERALLY LEGAL , SCIENTIFICALLY SAFE , and TO-
TALLY IRREPLACEABLE pest control products in the Province of Ontario. The
following is an excerpt from a 2008 coalition advertisement
supported by Pesticide Free Ontario ―

Health Canada evaluates each pesticide one at a time in iso-

lation from other pesticides and without accounting for the
multiple chemical exposures that occur in our daily lives.

lawn care, creating economic growth and green jobs. [ ? ]

In 2002, Laidlaw funded C.E.L.A. for Education and Public Policy f or

Children’s Health. According to the Laidlaw Annual Report 2002, fund-
ing was supplied for the following prohibitionist reasons ―

This grant provides CELA with support to enable the Partnership for Pesti-
cide Bylaws to educate key Toronto City Councillors to support this regula-
tion. The Partnership is a collaborative community network that will guide
current pesticide efforts into a common focused campaign to ensure passage
of a pesticides bylaw in the City of Toronto.

creased incidence of childhood neuroblastoma. How many deaths are ac-
ceptable before we move on this ? Speaking as a paediatrician, a father and

You put them [ pesticides ] on the lawn, they will go into the water table.

Dalton James Patrick McGuinty Junior is the PROHIBITION-

IST PREMIER of the Province of Ontario. McGuinty has con-
sistently pandered to minority organizations and fringe

In 2008, Anne Mitchell said ―

The draft legislation will not apply to the use of cosmetic pesticides on golf
courses. As the use of pesticides on golf courses is for purely cosmetic pur-
poses, CIELAP does not believe that such an exemption is necessary.

C.I.E.L. A.P. has publicly stated that it DOES NOT SEE THE NEED for any On-
tario prohibition exceptions for the Golf Industry. On Dece mber 18 t h ,
2008, C.I.E.L.A.P. issued the following recommendations ―

CIELAP did not believe that an exemption in the Act for the cosmetic use of
pesticides on the golf course was necessary. Accordingly, CIELAP recom-
mends that these sections of the regulation be strengthened to better pro-
tect the environment and human health by ensuring that golf courses comply
quickly with the new requirements of the Act. The draft regulation sets out
a time frame of three years for golf courses to become fully accredited by
an integrated pest management accreditation body. This time line should be
accelerated to ensure compliance by golf courses in a more timely fashion.

The O.C.F. P. report has absolutely NO CREDIBILITY in the legitimate scien-

tific community, and has been INTERNATIONALLY DISCREDITED. It is merely a
deceptive ENVIRO – MANIAC – JUNK – SCIENCE document that consists of simply a
CHERRY – PICKING of some of the most recklessly negative reports regarding
pest control products. It has been used as an effective « weapon of mass
destruction » by the Environmental–Terror–Movement.

O.C.F.P. used the PUBLIC AFFAIRS SHIELD organization Coali-

tion for Pesticide Reform Ontario, and claimed that ...

In a world of multiple chemical exposures, we must remove

needless risks from lawn and garden pesticides.
• We routinely concoct non–existent health issues and deceive the public by blurting out hollow expressions
like cancer, serious illness, reproductive problems, and neurological diseases. We are lying basterds.
• Children have been very useful to our twisted cause as weapons of mass destruction when we invent the
story that pesticides pose an alleged risk our children's health, and the health of the environment.
• There will be no end to our needless hysteria, fear, and terror. We want to mislead everyone with the lie
that children and adults are being exposed to cancer–causing agents whenever a pesticide is used.
• The Pesticides Literature Review released by the Ontario College of Family Physicians has also been very
useful to us as a weapon of mass destruction, even though we know it is disgracefully unscientific and un-
believably inaccurate. This bogus report has absolutely NO credibility in the legitimate scientific commu-
nity, and has been internationally discredited. More and more lies, fear–mongering, and misconceptions.

• Our terrorist activities have been especially fruitful in the Province of Quebec, where over
sixty per cent of the modern professional lawn care industry has now been annihilated !
We love hurting, harming, and terrorizing people with our usual depraved indifference.

• Even though we have no idea what we are talking about, we claim that mowing high, over–seeding, and
top–dressing will restore ecological soil health. This implies that we don’t really need pesticides to control
dam–aging pests in our lawns. Of course, we know that this too is a lie. We just can’t help ourselves.
• We routinely concoct the story that green alternatives to pesticides are low–risk and effective. We know
that most green alternatives are bogus, and have negatives ranging from almost total ineffectiveness except
under very specific circumstances, to a question about their toxicity. Many are high–risk and illegal.
• Once pesticides are banned in a community, our enviro–vermin–suppliers move in with our own highly ex-
pensive and highly profitable bogus alternatives. We are simply rich and greedy enviro–salesmen.
• Bans have been devastating to lawn care businesses. Following the adoption of a ban in Halifax, revenues
plummeted by forty per cent, and customers disintegrated by fifty per cent. Mission accomplished.

• We often concoct the story that, according to a small limited poll, most people support legislation to
restrict pesticide use. Of course, we bought and paid for this poll ourselves, and designed the questions
in a way that supports the ban of pesticides. We love deceiving everybody with our doctored poll.
