A highly advanced extraterrestrial civilization that has the technology to travel galaxies, surely possesses sophisticated enough technology to cover up its presence and erase all traces of its arrival, wouldn't you agree?

To us they may be anthropologists; they consider themselves as primatologists or zoologists, probably.

Well, this variety in details makes these "experiences" more like "imagined" scenarios than the real ones.
