“Too Many Bills, too Little Money”It seems that a lot of our stress is caused by our perception that we have ‘Too many Bills and toolittle Money’. Money issues are one of the leading causes of stress in America. When we feel we donot have enough money or we have too many bills, we become irritable. It affects our relationships, and it affects decisions we make. In short, we get stressed out when we feel we have too many billsand too little money. How do we overcome the stresses that too many bills and too little money cause? To overcome thismentality and to eventually reduce the stress that is being caused by it, is not an overnight process. We didn’t get into this situation overnight, and it will require some change in us if we are to overcomethese stresses and get to a point of enjoying the peace and contentment that come from the Lord. The first step we need to take is to focus on the Lord and His Word. In our spiritual lives, if we arecontinuing to focus on worldly things instead of focusing on the Lord and His word, that is going toaffect how we live, even if it is not what we intend for our lives. When we allow the world’s values and philosophies to grab our attention and keep our focus, we arein danger of stumbling and being taken captive. We have got to focus on the Lord and His Word, sowe can be built up and strengthened in the faith. Otherwise we are going to begin believing thatmoney really does provide a life without stress.Matthew 6:22-23 says, "The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body willbe full of light. But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the lightwithin you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

For most of us, the problem we face is not too littlemoney, although it seems like it. The problem wehave is a lifestyle that creates too many bills. Thereare still many of us who have fallen prey to “hollowand deceptive philosophies” and created our ownfinancial hardships by the pursuing of a lifestylethat is beyond our ability, believing that buyingmore stuff will make us happy. Bad spiritual eyeslead you into the darkness.I pray that the gospel according to Mathew 6:19-21would inspire you, "Do not store up for yourselvestreasures on earth, where moths and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store upfor yourselves treasures in heaven, where mothsand rust do not destroy, and where thieves do notbreak in and steal. For where your treasure is,there your heart will be also. The church is the place where we can find help inthe midst of those financial hardships. When youthink you don’t need the church and cut yourself offfrom the church and face a financial hardship, youwill find that you have cut yourself off from the veryhelp that God intended to give you during thosetimes.Your new life style will say, “Too much money, toofew bills.” May the Lord open your spiritual eyesand strengthen you and your financial life!Pastor Tae Kim

My Mama Cat is more than beautiful. She has a special talent. Every time Ikneel in prayer Mama Cat appears bymy side to place a paw on my handsand mew along quietly. Even if I’m inanother room silently praying, shesomehow knows and comes running.Recently some friends joined me for a prayer meet-ing. Mama Cat prowled around our feet. Shestopped to rub up against each one of us, addingher prayers to ours. How blessed I am never to haveto pray alone.
