: OA Osteoarthritis (OA) is one of the diseases that affectmusculoscletal system and can cause depression to people whom suffers from thatdiseases. Some factors can influence and correlate with that diseases. The purpose of thisstudy was to identify factors that can influence depression on OA patients.

, whichincluded 40 patients suffered from OAwhich defined by the presence of typicalsymptoms, physical examination, laboratory, and imaging features (according to the 1988criteria of ACR)who came in Polyclinic of Rheumatologic of Sardjito Hospital (January
2009-March 2009). Correlation of depression levels assessed by the Hamilton and Beck Depression Scale.
test was used to analyse factors that influenceddepression scale (sex, age, weight, pain level, duration of diseases, occupation, educationlevel, number of children).
: according to Hamilton depression scale we found moderate correlation withoccupation (r=0.507), weak correlation between depression with sex(r=0.200), age(r=0.259), illness duration (r=0.208); and very weak correlation with body mass index(r=0.080), NPS score (r=0.125), number of child (r=0.053) and level of education(r=0.163). According to Beck scale we found weak correlation with age (r=0.340) andoccupation (r=0.205); very weak correlation with NPS score (r=0.015), illness duration(r=0.015), body mass index (r=0.118), sex (r=0.008)), number of child (0.153) and levelof education (0.138).
: From this study we can conclude that many patient with OAexperience depression. There are many factors influenced.
