Melancholy Derric Saville June 24, 2010 Your melancholy steals the room, beneath the rafters, breathes the uncertainty, every wind knocks another coat of dust, clouds the room with shadows, the sun’s crepuscular rays, cannot erase your frown, there is a sadness, a churlish brute inside your chest, weighing heavy on your heart, carrying forward the anguish of your family’s past, knowing the nature of your ways, your mate nuzzles close, inhales the essence off your cheek, a glance ignites a passion, long since embered, in the youth fires, of ages past, embracing away wash all the years, spinning dust disappears into the mud of yesterness, and the transit of your melancholy, is complete, as your head rocks back, and a welcome smile parses well worn wrinkles and the world seems all anew, ‘til the moment, lapses into thoughtful frowns, and the melancholy returns.
