The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is the focus of thepolitical process to address Climate Change. The Convention secretariat is supporting the Conventionand its Kyoto Protocol by a range of activities, including substantive and organizational support tomeetings of the Parties.The Sustainable Development Mechanisms (SDM) Programme supports the implementation of theKyoto mechanisms. The Services and Management Support (SMS) unit provides general oversight,administrative support and guidance to SDM.
Responsibilities
Under the general guidance of the Manager (SMS), the direct supervision of the Team Lead of theSkills Development unit, the incumbent identifies skills development needs for staff and external expertsand facilitates the provision of training and capacity building. In particular the incumbent will:1. Develop skill development and capacity building training programmes for SDM staff, members of governing bodies, and external stakeholders in the CDM and JI processes to enhance theknowledge needed to maintain a stable and viable CDM and JI cycle, determining needs throughvarious assessment techniques.2. Manage the process for the design - or design - training modules, including objectives, scope andcontent, delivery modalities, and evaluation criteria.3.
