The Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games are drawing near and I’ve had the pleasure to learn abouta couple special events featuring some of our own central Florida horses and riders. You’ll readabout a very dedicated local dressage trainer who’s focused almost entirely on preparing PonyClubbers for their opportunity to perform a Quadrille & an organization most of us won’t haveknown existed until now- the SPHO of FL…their President & Executive Vice President have beeninvited to perform a Pas De Deux on their Standardbreds that were at one time pacers at the racetrack. If you plan to visit Kentucky during the Games I hope you will have an opportunity to showsupport.Please read the tributes for the Salms, Edd Lookingbill & Denna Johnson. I know we all feelsadness and disbelief. I did not have the pleasure of knowing the Salms except through facebookbut they touched many lives in the dressage community. Edd & Denna both have so many veryclose friends here. They were both great givers & supporters in theirown ways. Their passing is a reminder that there are no guarantees- allthe clichés (“live life to the fullest”; “each day as if it were your last”, etc;) come from wisdom and understanding, yet many of us probably onlyconsider the clichés at the point when we experience loss.Make today & everyday count. Be proactive in achieving your goals.Live, love & laugh as often as possible.Happy Riding,
