HISTORY

With four generations of wine-making and deep commitment in producing wines of


exceptional quality, McGuigan family has distinguished itself in the wine-making industry.
McGuigan wines and Australian wine-making go hand in hand. Owen McGuigan, Percs
father, was the founder of McGuigan familys legacy.
From 1930 to 1950 Perc McGuigan played a crucial role in managing Hunter Valley winery
and became a Hunter Valley Living Legend.
Brian McGuigan, Percs son, along with wife Fay McGuigan generated a new wave in
Australian wine industry with new techniques. In 1999, Barossa Valley became another
home for McGuigans, after working at Hunter Valley for over hundred years.
In 2002, Joining hands with Simeon Wines, McGuigan wines became fourth largest
wine-maker in Australia. McGuigan wines merged with Simone wines in 2002 to become
Mcguigan Simone, which transitioned to become Australian Vintage Limited after being listed
on Australia Stock Exchange in 2008
In 2010, Semillon Blanc was launched in the UK market which witnessed sky-rocketing sales.
With the marketing campaign Come on in, McGuigan Wines re-launched the brand in 2013.
In 2014, The International Wine & Spirit Competition named Neil McGuigan as the President
for 2015. In the same year McGuigan partnered Chinese heavyweight COFCO to transform
the brand in Chinese market. Two years later, At International Wine & Spirits Competition
(IWSC) McGuigan Wines was awarded International Wine-maker of the Year, London, for a
record fourth time.

VINEYARDS

McGuigan Wines have vineywards in Hunter Valley in New South Wales and Barossa Valley in
South Australia.

AWARDS AND APPRECIATION

At International Wine and Spirit Competition 2016 held in London, McGuigan wines was awarded
Australian Producer of the Year. McGuigan Bin 9000 Semillon 2003 won International Semillon
Trophy and McGuigan Handmade Shiraz 2007 won International Shiraz Trophy.
In 2015, , McGuigan Black Label Red secured the first spot as Australias bestselling red wine by
volume. Black Label Cabernet Merlot was on third and Black Label Merlot on the sixth position
respectively.
In UK market, McGuigan became the fourth largest global brand in wines in 2015.
McGuigan wines was honoured to receive THREE TROPHIES at the 2016 Cathay Pacific Hong
Kong International Wine and Spirit Competition including BEST AUSTRALIAN WINE OF THE
COMPETITION.
