o think that this summer we’llbe ve years old is a prettymind-blowing thought. Look-ing back at our rst ew issues, crudelydesigned in Photoshop CS2 andormatted or the PSP, the magazinetoday is barely even comparable.Ten titled

, we were oneo a handul o digital magazines orSony’s gaming handheld, and so arahead o the online media surge, majorpublishers had no idea this marketeven existed and o all our competitorsback then, we’re the only magazinelet. We rebranded to
FAN HE FIRE
,spread out to music, lm, art and styleand took up a pleasing position in theindie publisher circle.With magazines now closinglet, right and centre, in a couple o years time there won’t be many o thehousehold names let. Te time is ripeor start-ups to stake a claim in themedia world, and we’re ready to makethat step-up to really challenge thecurrent autocracy. Very shortly we’ll be launchingour iPad app (there’s every chanceyou might even be reading this issueon there), and unlike a lot o otherpublications’ tablet oerings, we reallyeel we’re onto something inventiveand original. I Rupert Murdoch thinkshe can charge £9.99 or Te imes’iPad app then demand a urther ee oraccess to their new paywalled website,despite talking up a uturistic game,his head is still thoroughly in the past.Tis month we’ve got the legend-ary eBoy on our cover, a tting tributeto media’s pixelated uture, and astatement rom us that we’re ready tomix it with the big guns.While we’re talking about com-ing a long way too, as you’ve probablyguessed by now, we’re pretty big anso last month’s cover stars Delta Spirit.Featured, interviewed and reviewed onnumerous occasions, we were on thescene beore they even released theirrst EP and several years ago now, gavethem their rst ever magazine spot. A couple o weeks ago they releasedtheir sophomore LP, entitled
HistoryFrom Below
, and while they didn’t topthe charts, to make the Billboard 200alone is a huge deal or the indie our-piece, so a massive congratulations orcharting at #179, and an even better#8 on Heatseekers. Boys, you’ve doneus proud.
