‘Music is the purest form of ar t… therefore true poets, they who are seers, seek to
express the universe in terms of music’…Rabindranath Tagore
Come experience the ancient art form of Indian classical music with Drisha Music Academy. Established in 2005 by Mrs Monali Shome (Sangeet Prabhakar in Hindustani Classical Music), the Academy has been offering classes to children and adults in Johannesburg. The syllabus followed is as stipulated by the Hindustani Classical Music Gharana (University of Chandigarh – Pracheen Kala Kendra, India), to which the Academy is affiliated. The classical basis of the classes ensures that students improve in all styles to which they are exposed, including Ghazal, Bhajan and Bollywood. Due to numerous requests, Drisha Music Academy is launching a number of new classes from 1st July 2010. Enrolment for classes has commenced for the areas listed below.
