Adamjee Group Profile
The group was founded by Sir Adamjee Haji Dawood
(1880-1948) who also played a vital role in the birth of
the state of Pakistan by acting as a financial advisor
and supporter to Quaid-e-Azam Mohomed Ali Jinnah-
the founding father of Pakistan. Sir Adamjee's role as
advisor gave birth to various economic institutions;
the Muslim Commercial Bank (MCB), Orient
Airways, and the Morning Star newspaper. These
were primarily established at the behest of Quaid-e-
Azam Mohomed Ali Jinnah to win support of Muslims
of Pakistan and facilitate them in migration to
Pakistan during the partition of India in August 1947.
Diversified Portfolio of Business
The group has had changing fortunes over the past 50
years. Initially originating as a Jute and Banking
conglomerate,later spreading to other industries i.e. tea,
textiles, matches, sugar, paper board, chemicals,
engineering and Insurance. Enterprise under the
umbrella of the group are :

The group is also known for its philanthropic


activities in Pakistan and have established
various educational and medical institutions

Automotive industry in Pakistan

Automotive industry in pakistan started in 1950


and has gone through different phases:

Adam Motor Co.

Adam Motor Co., an assembler of Chinese SUVs


and pickup trucks in Pakistan introduced an
indigenous automobile Called the Revo.

It is a 3576 mm long hatchback, powered by


either a 800 cc or a 1051 cc petrol engine,
sourced from Wuling in China. Otherwise the
car is built from local parts.
Adamjee Revo Car

Adam Revo was a city car made by the now


defunct Adam Motor Company of Pakistan. It
was the first car to be designed & assembled in
Pakistan.

Production of this model stopped by September


2006 due to political insecurity and turmoil in
Pakistan, lack of funds .
Feroz Khan, Maker of Pakistan's
REVO
The leadership provided by Mr Feroz Khan
chairman AWM to perform a miracle of producing
this first Pakistani car and thus make our country
the 17th member of this exclusive club which has
the honour of manufacturing their own cars.

Feroz's life story can be aptly described as a journey


similar to that of Abraham Lincoln from the log
cabin to the White House. Feroz started life in a
motor workshop and has reason to the highest
position in the auto mobile industry in the country.
Project Cycle

Feroz Khan started on the Revo project six


years ago,three years for preparations of
technology, and three years to work actively on
the car project. The process was a bumpy ride.

The Revo is being assembled at a plant in


Karachi owned by Adam Motors. And the
engine and transmission systems have come
from China. The company plans to make 5,000
units a year.
Launching Of Revo

Pakistan yesterday launched its first locally


designed car and joined an Elite group of 16
countries achieve the feat.

A large number of car lovers, dignitaries and the


officials of the manufacturing company
attended the launching ceremony.

The launching ceremony was done at Adam


Walton Motors at Lahore.

There were two variants available, equipped with two
different Chinese made engines; the Revo 80 (0.8L)
and Revo 105 (1.05L).

The Revo was envisaged to be between 10% and


15% cheaper than its foreign competitors,
mainly the Mehran 800, which dominates
Pakistan's automobile industry.

The Revo cost with compressed Natural Gas


(CNG) kit price Rs.269,000.

There are some main causes of failure of this project:
