Additional thoughts about our meetings for new and prospective members:
Our normal meeting night is the 3rd Thursday of the months January through November. We have a Christmas party on a Friday or Saturday night in December in place of that month’s meeting. Our meetings start at 7:30 pm and usually run about one hour.In January, April, July and October, we gather at 7:00 pm for our quarterly dinner before the 7:30 Meeting.============================================================================
Our sympathy
goes out, once again, to the Maddox family for the loss of our long time member ElsieMaddox. Elsie has been a member of our Club since 1997 with her husband Kiefer Maddox who passedaway last year. Elsie and Kiefer collected, and shared, a wealth of farm equipment and information. We also want to extend our deepest sympathy to the LeCompte family for the loss of our member and goodfriend Duncan LeCompte. Duncan, along with his wife Jane, has been a real asset to the growth and stabilityof our Club. He will be missed.============================================================================Here are some pictures from our 4th annual Antique tractor, truck and engine show. The weather wasgood, the food was good, and the fun and fellowship was outstanding. We hope that
you
were there toenjoy it.

=================================================================The 2010 Salt River Antique Power Association’s annual Tractor, Truck and Engineshow
is now in the history books and it was another fine success. The show was held on June 4th and 5th, 2010 at the Shelby County Fairgrounds and wasattended by an estimated 1500+ people. This years show featured the Ford and Fergusonbrand of tractors including the Ford, Ford Ferguson, Massy Ferguson and Massy Harrismachines. Our total count on show tractors was over 120 machines with 31 featuredtractors and more than 30 lawn and garden models.New for this year was the addition of the local chapter of the American Truck HistoricalSociety, the Antique Truck Club of America and the Society for the Preservation andAppreciation of Antique Motor Fire Apparatus in America. These groups brought in animpressive collection of medium to heavy equipment that added a new dimension of interestand excitement to our show and to our Parade of Power. We want to thank them for theirparticipation.Returning for the second year was the Kentucky Pioneer Power Association with theiroutstanding display of stationary flywheel engines and a number of mechanical displays thatdemonstrated some of the original uses for their engines. We were very glad to have themback for our show this year. Our Friday night fish fry was a big hit with plenty of good food, no lines to wait in and anumber of smiling faces dishing out the feast. This years fish fry was extremely well organizedand received many very positive comments. Our thanks to all of the members that pitched into help make this part of our event go so smoothly. Our tractor games event and the corn hole tournament were also big draws. We are sorrythat we do not have results to post on the winners of these events, but we are sure that youwill hear about the winners at the next meeting. And last, but
certainly not least
was the Antique Tractor Pull event put on by Jimmy Hanceand his team of VERY dedicated people. The effort that went in to preparing, maintaining andmanaging the track while conducting more that 200 hooks, pull backs, weight-in’s, scoring andpayouts was a monumental task that lasted well into the not so wee hours of Sunday morning.
Our sincere thanks go out to this very dedicated team.
