HISTORY OF ROBOTS

Though robots are being talked of since very long, real beginning was in 1954when a programmed articulated transfer devicewas develop. In 1962, the general motorsinstalled its first robot when real developmentwork started. Thus period of 1954 to 1962 isconsidered as infancy for robots and periodfrom 1962 to 1976 as the period of development, in 1968 an intelligence robot,shaky, was built and in 1973 a commerciallyavailable robots was produced. Today·s thereis a lot of interest in this field and aseparate branch of technology ¶robotics· hasemerged.
